Senior Financial Analyst


Department: Finance


Reports To: Director Finance


Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Director of Finance in executing core financial processes, building reporting infrastructure, and delivering insights across manufacturing, supply chain, and retail operations. This role focuses on FP&A, cost accounting, retail/market‑facing analytics, and KPI reporting.


Key Responsibilities

Finance Function Support

  • Support development of finance processes, tools, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of monthly close, reporting, and compliance activities.


Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Analyze market‑facing operating expenses (OPEX) and profitability trends across manufacturing and retail.
  • Build financial models and business cases for strategic initiatives.


Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

  • Support product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance reporting.
  • Partner with operations to identify efficiency opportunities and manage production cost drivers.
  • Monitor inventory obsolescence and working capital impacts.


Retail & Market‑Facing Finance

  • Evaluate store‑level performance, pricing, promotions, and consumer activity.
  • Track retail KPIs including seasonality, product leaders, and loss leaders.
  • Ensure financial strategies are implemented across retail channels.


KPI Execution & Analytics

  • Maintain dashboards and reporting packages to track financial and operational metrics.
  • Deliver data‑driven insights to retail, operations, and leadership teams.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • MBA or CPA/CMA a plus.


Experience

  • 2-4 years of finance experience
  • Experience building dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools.
  • Exposure to cross‑functional business partnering.


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Sage, JD Edwards, NetSuite, or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).


Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights to non‑financial audiences.
  • Ability to support strategic direction set by the Director of Finance.
