Role Summary: Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and Snowflake-based solutions supporting enterprise analytics and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, along with tools like Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Snowflake Scripting/SQL Stored Procedures
  • Write complex, high-performance SQL queries, views, and UDFs for data transformation and analytics
  • Integrate Snowflake with tools such as Informatica, Talend, dbt, Matillion, Airflow, or ADF for data ingestion/orchestration
  • Implement data loading strategies (bulk load, COPY INTO, external stages, Snowpipe for near real-time ingestion)
  • Optimize warehouse sizing, query performance, clustering keys, and caching strategies to control cost and improve efficiency
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC), row-level/column-level security, and data masking policies
  • Work with semi-structured data (JSON, Parquet, Avro) using VARIANT, FLATTEN, and related functions
  • Collaborate with data modelers/architects to implement physical data models (dimensional/Data Vault) in Snowflake
  • Troubleshoot production issues, monitor pipeline health, and support CI/CD deployment of Snowflake objects
  • Document technical designs, data flows, and coding standards; mentor junior developers (for senior-level candidates)

Required Skills

  • 7+ years overall data engineering experience, with 4+ years hands-on Snowflake experience
  • Strong SQL and Snowflake-specific features (Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Streams & Tasks, Secure Views)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and associated storage services (S3, ADLS, GCS)
  • Proficiency in at least one ETL/orchestration tool (dbt, Informatica, Talend, Airflow, ADF, Matillion)
  • Scripting experience in Python or Shell for automation
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and CDC patterns
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
  • Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core, preferred)
