Senior Reporting & Analytics Specialist
Indexed description
We're looking for a Senior Reporting & Analytics Specialist to join our Strategy & Analytics team. You'll own dashboards, tracking QA, and analytics-facing automation — turning Fastwork's data into reporting and automation the business can trust and act on daily.
This is a senior, self-directed IC role: you own your domain end-to-end with light oversight, not step-by-step direction.
Before you continue, make sure this is the kind of environment you want to work in.
----------------------------------------------
📍 What to Expect (you agree to sign up for these)
- Small team (3 people): You’ll work closely with a Strategy & Analytics Lead (your manager) and a Senior Data Engineer. The team has a broad scope and requires a high level of ownership and autonomy.
- Highly self-driven IC role: You’ll have both your manager and a peer as partners. We’re looking for someone who can be a true partner to the team — proactive, independent, and able to move things forward without requiring constant supervision or direction.
- Evolving data foundation: Our data infrastructure is still being built and improved. You’ll help shape self-serve data capabilities rather than simply consume existing systems.
- High startup speed: Decisions happen on the spot — in hours or days, not lengthy sprint cycles. Priorities can shift quickly, and you’ll need to be comfortable adapting as things quickly change.
- Fast feedback loop: What you ship gets used and acted on immediately.
- Problem-solving mindset: We don’t see problems as barriers. When you see a problem, find a solution. When traditional ways don’t work, find a new way. When you see limitations, turn them into opportunities. There’s no point in comparing ourselves to other companies or using them as a benchmark for what we can or cannot do. We’re looking for someone who can move us forward — not someone who gets stuck by limitations or holds the team back.
- Tools: BigQuery, Metabase, GA4, GTM, Python, Claude Code
If this sounds like the environment you want to sign up for, please keep reading.

🚀 Responsibilities
Dashboards & Reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards in Metabase across BI's active domains (product monetization, GMV, seller quality, category performance, and etc.)
- Maintain and extend certified self-serve dashboards/tables so stakeholders can answer their own questions without pulling BI in every time
- Handle ad-hoc data requests from cross-functional teams (product, commercial, marketing, finance) — and utilize AI tools to expedite these processes.
Tracking convention & Data Foundation
- Own tracking convention end-to-end: verify GTM/dataLayer events and tracking hooks against ticket specs on staging before features launch
- Maintain tracking-convention hygiene (naming, source/url_source params) across GTM containers and SDK analytics events
- Partner directly with Product manager and Engineer so feature tracking is trustworthy from day one, not patched after launch
Analytics-Facing Automation
- Build and maintain Slack-delivered insight bots and alert pipelines (anomaly alerts, cost alerts, sentiment/community pulses) — the analytics-facing half of BI's automation (distinct from the Data Engineer's infra-facing automation)
- Own all analytics tools here including Google Analytics, Amplitude, Metabase, Clevertap etc.
- Use Python + AI tooling to ship these in days, not multi-week projects
----------------------------------------------
✅ Basic Qualifications
- 3-5 years in data analytics, BI, or a closely related tracking/analytics engineering role — senior enough to own a domain with light oversight
- Strong SQL — write and debug complex queries independently
- Hands-on experience with GTM / dataLayer / website tracking (this is core to the role, not a nice-to-have)
- Proficiency in Metabase or an equivalent BI tool (Looker, Tableau, GA4)
- Comfortable working directly with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse
- Clear communicator — can turn a dashboard or number into a recommendation a non-technical stakeholder can act on
- Genuine AI-native workflow — uses LLM tools to move faster day-to-day, not just familiar with them
----------------------------------------------
✨ Preferred Qualifications
- Python for automation, AI, and analysis
- GCP experience (Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Functions, and similar)
- Experience building Slack, Line bots or alerting pipelines
- Familiarity with marketplace or platform business models
----------------------------------------------
