Role: Senior Data Engineer

A fast growing modern cloud business is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of its modern data platform foundations. In this role, you will lead the core data ecosystem, architect scalable pipelines, and deliver high quality data for business analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production grade ELT pipelines from PostgreSQL and external sources into Snowflake.
• Architect and implement a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) across the data warehouse.
• Lead the migration from dbt Core to dbt Cloud, including CI/CD automation and project restructuring.
• Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and proactive alerting at the ingestion layer.
• Define and enforce upstream data contracts while managing Snowflake performance, permissions, and cost optimisation.
• Build reverse ETL pipelines to sync enriched data into downstream business platforms.

Key Requirements

• 6+ years of data engineering experience with strong hands-on Snowflake and Python expertise.
• Solid experience with dbt Core or dbt Cloud and complex SQL modelling.
• Proven background building reliable ELT pipelines from transactional databases and APIs.
• Hands-on knowledge of modern data ingestion tools such as Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar.
• Strong grasp of data platform security, cost control, and Git based workflows.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS) or orchestration tools like Airflow is beneficial.
