Data Engineer – Snowflake / SQL / Data Pipelines - £52-62k
Indexed description
I’m working with a major UK charity that has recently implemented Snowflake and is now looking for 2 Data Engineers to help shape what comes next.
They're looking for 1 mid level IC, and 1 mid-senior who wants to step into move of a Senior role. That role will be around 70–80% hands-on, but they also need someone capable of thinking strategically, improving engineering practices and challenging the business when data requirements aren’t clear or sensible.
As a team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Building and improving data pipelines
- Developing SQL-based data models
- Integrating Salesforce and other data sources into Snowflake
- Helping develop a Medallion-style data architecture
- Establishing data quality and governance practices
- Improving engineering processes and ways of working
- Managing the performance and cost of the data platform
- Working with senior stakeholders across the organisation
You’ll need:
- Excellent SQL skills
- Strong experience building data pipelines
- Experience integrating multiple sources into a data warehouse
- A good understanding of data modelling, quality and governance
- The confidence to take ownership and push back when needed
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
Snowflake experience would be highly desirable, but it isn’t essential if you’ve worked extensively with another modern cloud data platform.
Experience with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud or Data Cloud/Data 360 would also be useful, while previous charity or fundraising experience is a bonus rather than a requirement.
You’ll be joining at the beginning of a significant data transformation, with plenty of new engineering work and the opportunity to influence how the organisation uses data moving forward.
