Lead Data Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer who will be responsible for defining data engineering standards, building reusable patterns, mentoring engineers, supporting hiring and onboarding, reviewing solution designs, and ensuring consistent engineering maturity across data teams.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the design, development, and optimization of scalable data platforms, pipelines, Lakehouse solutions, and analytics-ready datasets, leveraging technologies such as Python, Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Define and govern data engineering standards, including architecture, coding practices, data quality, security, metadata management, lineage, observability, automation, CI/CD, and cost optimization to ensure reliable and scalable solutions.
• Lead the Data Engineering chapter by creating capability frameworks, skill development roadmaps, onboarding programs, and mentoring engineers across all experience levels to strengthen technical excellence and delivery maturity.
• Support hiring, capability assessments, performance management, succession planning, and career development while fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Experience

• Modern Data Engineering (Python, Data Pipelines & Architecture)
• Cloud Data Platform Engineering (AWS/Azure, Databricks & Snowflake)\Technical Leadership & Data Engineering Governance
• Strong expertise in Python, data modeling, ETL/ELT design, batch and incremental pipelines, and scalable data architecture for enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, Databricks, Spark, Snowflake, and BI platforms (Power BI/Tableau) to deliver cloud-native data and analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, lineage, security, privacy, compliance, observability, and DataOps/CI/CD practices to ensure reliable and governed data products.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers, establish technical standards, conduct design and code reviews, support talent development, and drive engineering excellence across teams.
