Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid remote work allowed, but must attend in-person meetings when required)

Duration: 12 months

Positions: 2

Work Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Tester to support a large-scale enterprise application that manages critical information-sharing systems. This role involves manual testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect tracking, test documentation, SQL validation, API/web service testing, and automation framework development.

Key responsibilities

  • Create test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements.
  • Perform manual testing and UAT for application releases.
  • Document test results and prepare testing reports.
  • Log, track, and help resolve defects.
  • Validate requirements and traceability matrices.
  • Support testing activities for new application releases.
  • Create testing process documentation for the QA team.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain automation test frameworks and test suites.
  • Integrate automation testing with DevOps pipelines.
  • Present testing results and project updates when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 7 years of QA testing experience on IT projects.
  • Strong experience with manual testing and UAT.
  • Experience testing web services/APIs using SoapUI or Postman.
  • Strong SQL skills with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with XML standards (NIEM XML preferred).
  • Knowledge of SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture).
  • Proficiency in C# or Java.
  • Experience with data-driven automation testing.
  • Familiarity with GitHub.
  • Good knowledge of automation reporting tools such as Extent Reports.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with IBM Rational Jazz Suite.
  • Experience working on large enterprise or government systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex integrated systems.

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
  • Occasional onsite meetings in Hartford, CT are required.
