Senior Platform Architect

In this position, you will take on architectural and design responsibility for the platform layer bridging a mature core system and new applications. You will draft and implement backend services, APIs, and scalable infrastructure for a product in daily real-world use, while helping actively shape team structures and technical processes from the ground up.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong track record as a Senior Backend or Fullstack Engineer in long-term product development, proven architecture experience with object-oriented languages (Java, C#, .NET, or Python), and the willingness to take on technical ownership for sustainable solutions.
| WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design and develop resilient backend systems and API endpoints for our central platform.
- Define and substantiate technical architecture and design choices for upcoming system modules.
- Regularly improve, scale up, and tune current services alongside the core platform infrastructure.
- Integrate fresh functionalities into our proven legacy system utilizing neat and structured interfaces.
- Assume full technical responsibility for operational performance, reliability, and deployment processes in production.
- Serve as a key technical advisor in our growing Platform Team, guiding technical frameworks and methodologies from the very beginning.
- Multi-year track record working as a Senior Backend or Full-Stack developer in a dedicated product-focused environment rather than project-based agencies.
- Deep expertise in using object-oriented languages like Java, C#/.NET, or Python.
- Demonstrated background in system architecture with a history of owning and maintaining the systems you build.
- Solid practical knowledge of designing APIs, microservices, and managing communications between distributed architectures.
- Good understanding of containerization technologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment, and current DevOps workflows.
- Passion for joining an early-stage team structure and helping to define joint workflows and team dynamics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
In this role, you can work hybrid remote (2-3 days remote) from the new office in Klagenfurt. During the initial onboarding phase you will travel regularly (a few times/month) to the HQ of the company in Graz.
Should you relocate or travel for this role, your relocation or travel costs will naturally be covered.
