[What you will be working on]
We are looking for a hands-on engineer to build, automate, and operate our on-premises OpenShift platform for government workloads across multiple data centres. Strong Kubernetes experience is essential; OpenShift experience is preferred.
- Build and operate highly available OpenShift clusters.
- Automate cluster provisioning, configuration, upgrades, scaling, and recovery.
- Manage platform services including networking, ingress, DNS, identity, certificates, storage integration, monitoring, and logging.
- Implement GitOps workflows for cluster and platform configuration.
- Establish tenant onboarding, access control, quotas, policies, and workload-isolation standards.
- Monitor platform health and troubleshoot incidents across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, storage, and infrastructure.
- Develop runbooks and test upgrade, backup, restore, and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Work with network, security, storage, and application teams to deliver reliable platform services.
- Participate in production support and share knowledge with the wider engineering team.
- roduction experience building or operating self-managed Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, scheduling, storage, and workload lifecycle.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with cluster upgrades, node lifecycle management, monitoring, and incident response.
- Automation experience using Ansible, Terraform, Go, Python, shell, or similar tools.
- Experience with GitOps, infrastructure as code, and version-controlled configuration.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, load balancing, routing, and firewalls.
- Ability to troubleshoot across application, platform, operating-system, and infrastructure layers.
