Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Tester

Location: McCullough – City Tower, 10th Floor, 500 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78215

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly proficient and hands-on Software Quality Assurance Tester 4 to support and drive our Agile automated software testing initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with software developers, analysts, and product teams to design, develop, execute, and maintain automated testing solutions that ensure high-quality software releases and a reliable end-user experience.

This role will be responsible for expanding and maintaining QA automation capabilities across existing and new digital products while following industry-standard testing practices, automation frameworks, and software quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced hands-on Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation activities within Agile software product teams.

Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and frameworks.

Work closely with software developers, analysts, and product teams to validate application functionality and software releases.

Configure, integrate, and execute QA automation tools, platforms, and frameworks.

Apply software QA testing standards, automation concepts, tools, platforms, and frameworks.

Perform software configuration management, including version control, change control, and configuration builds.

Develop and maintain automated testing solutions using Selenium WebDriver, preferably with Java or other programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, Python, Ruby, or Perl.

Develop and execute automated tests for web applications, APIs, devices, operating systems, usability, load, integration, and performance testing.

Perform Functional, Integration, System Integration, Regression, UAT, and End-to-End testing.

Test web services, XML, and WSDL using tools such as SOAP UI and validate endpoints across different servers and web-service versions.

Independently evaluate and test software applications against business and user requirements.

Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects while working with developers and managers on code and bug reviews.

Support successful software release deployments by validating application quality and stability.

Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of the organization's QA automation capabilities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, OR equivalent relevant technical/programming experience.

Advanced hands-on experience with software testing and test automation.

Advanced experience with at least one automation framework/platform such as:

Selenium

Appium

Playwright

Strong programming experience in at least one language, preferably Java.

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.

Experience with version control, configuration management, and CI/CD environments.

Experience working in Agile or other software development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced professional experience working with Enterprise IT solutions and software product teams.

Experience with tools such as:

Sauce Labs

Jenkins

GitHub

Maven

TestNG

Eclipse

IntelliJ IDEA

Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or other load/performance testing tools.

Experience testing enterprise applications, including:

SAP/ERP applications

Java or .NET web portals and websites

IBM Content Services

Adobe AEM

WordPress/CMS platforms

Experience with API automation and cloud testing.

Knowledge of Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere for hosting Java web applications.

Understanding of Web 2.0/3.0 technologies, web browsers, SSL, encryption, and secure implementations.

Experience with healthcare-related testing standards such as HIPAA and claims-based applications is a plus.

Experience with tools/platforms such as MuleSoft or Automation Anywhere is a plus.
