LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an innovative technology organization seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a hands-on engineer who is passionate about automation, cloud infrastructure, and leveraging AI-driven tools to improve operational efficiency.
Position Overview
In this role, you will identify manual processes across infrastructure, deployment, security, and development workflows and transform them into scalable, automated solutions. You will work closely with engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management, cloud operations, and developer experience while helping drive the adoption of AI-assisted development practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation solutions that reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency
- Build, maintain, and optimize infrastructure-as-code environments
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for build, testing, deployment, and security workflows
- Enhance code quality and security processes through automated controls and tooling
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation while maintaining high engineering standards
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure environments
- Investigate production and pipeline issues and implement long-term solutions
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to establish best practices and operational standards
- Evaluate and improve DevOps tools, platforms, and development workflows
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and process guides
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar
- Experience owning and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production environments
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, reliability, and performance principles
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems and production environments
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language
- Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools and automation platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a distributed team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms
- Experience with SonarQube, Snyk, Semgrep, CodeQL, or other code-quality/security tools
- Kubernetes, Docker, or container orchestration experience
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools
- Security automation or compliance automation experience
- Experience building developer platforms or self-service tooling
- Background working with globally distributed engineering teams

- Candidates must reside in or be within commuting distance of Albuquerque, NM.
