Sr Software Performance Engineer

Software Performance Engineers benchmark high-demand SAS solutions across on-premises and cloud environments to validate scalability and performance. Together, they provide technical insights, benchmark assets, and best practices that support global Sales, Marketing, and customer engagement efforts.

Benchmark Team

• Collaborate with R&D, Consulting, Sales, and Pre-sales to define customer-like benchmark scenarios for small, medium, and large environments.
• Translate project objectives (test cases, data samples, user personas, proper execution methods, etc.) into structured project plans, including deliverables, and timelines.
• Execute benchmarks using technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration; analyze results and refine testing strategies to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
• Author performance briefs, best practices, and white papers using internal/external tools; support sales with performance insights.
• Proactively identify and resolve project roadblocks; maintain schedule alignment with stakeholders.
• Support team success by reviewing peer work, sharing feedback, and fostering collaboration.

Technical Skills

• Performance testing of large-scale distributed applications
• Tools: Playwright/Locust/Python – Jmeter and other performance testing tools a plus
• Programming & Scripting: Python, SQL, SAS, Bash/Kornshell – PowerShell and other languages a plus
• Monitoring & diagnostics: Prometheus, Grafana, ESM, NMON, FIO, PerfMon, SysInternals, IOSTAT, IOMeter, NETSTAT, VMSTAT, TOP (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog a plus)
• System administration (Linux, Windows Server), Storage systems (SAN, NAS, NFS, Storage protocols (FCoE, Fibre Channel, CIFS, JBOD)
• Cloud & Containerization: Experienced with Azure AKS, AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
