Automation Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Lead the QA Automation team for a key healthcare software product, defining test automation strategy across all levels (unit, integration, system, stress, performance).

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on delivery and quality commitments, embedding "shift-left", "automation-first", and risk-based testing approaches.

• Remain hands-on in designing scalable frameworks, harnesses, and CI/CD pipelines that adapt to product complexity.

• Drive AI-native test automation, utilizing AI agents for test generation, maintenance, and triage, and establishing reusable workflows.

• Mentor QA Engineers, elevate technical standards, and contribute expertise to the broader QA community.

What You'll Need

• Proven leadership experience in test automation with strong technical credibility and team development skills.

• A strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Extensive experience with multi-layered test frameworks, CI/CD, performance testing, and proficiency in programming languages like C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.

• Demonstrated effective use of AI in QA, preferably with agent-based tools, and experience designing AI pipelines and test harnesses.

• Fluency in both German and English, strong problem-solving abilities, innovation, proactivity, and an entrepreneurial mindset aligned with healthcare purposes.
