Job Opportunity: AppOps Engineer


Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico (Hybrid)


Experience Required: 3–5 years of experience


About the Role


We are seeking a motivated and talented AppOps Engineer to manage the end-to-end operational lifecycle of critical, enterprise-scale applications. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, Cloud Operations, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure smooth application deployments, reliable production operations, robust monitoring, and proactive issue prevention. This position places a strong emphasis on application runtime health, incident management, release readiness, and environment reliability.


Key Responsibilities


  • Application Runtime & Reliability: Monitor application health, performance, and availability across multiple environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) to optimize behavior.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Triage, investigate, and resolve production incidents; perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive long-term fixes.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement and maintain dashboards, alerts, and log pipelines using enterprise observability tools to ensure system transparency.
  • Release & Deployment: Coordinate and execute application deployments, validate post-deployment health, and manage deployment patterns such as blue/green, rolling, and canary.
  • Configuration & Environment Management: Maintain application environments, configuration baselines, secrets, access controls, and platform dependencies.
  • Automation: Develop runbooks, SOPs, and automate repeatable workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual toil.
  • SLA & Performance Metrics: Track and own key operational KPIs such as uptime, MTTR, change success rate, and SLA/SLO adherence.


Key Requirements


  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in application operations or production support in cloud environments.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS or Azure). An active AWS or Azure Associate-level certification is required.
  • Tools & Observability: Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.
  • Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or PowerShell, and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: General understanding of load balancers, DNS, certificates, and storage networking.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Preferred Certifications: ITIL Foundation level or Terraform Certified Engineer is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
