Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Lighting Product Manager with deep expertise in commercial, industrial, and sports lighting systems, including advanced lighting controls and smart technologies. The ideal candidate must understand lighting products “inside and out” — from optical performance, thermal management, controls integration, compliance, and application engineering to market positioning, customer requirements, and competitive strategy.

This role will lead product planning, market research, solution development, technical support, product training, and go-to-market execution for indoor and outdoor lighting products and intelligent control systems.

The ideal candidate should also be highly effective in:

* Supporting customers and internal sales/application teams

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Management

* Own and manage the complete product lifecycle from concept through launch and phase-out.

* Develop and execute product roadmaps for Commercial, industrial, sports, Outdoor/site, smart lighting controls

* Define product specifications based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive benchmarking.

* Coordinate with engineering, sales, sourcing, operations, and marketing teams for successful product development.

2. Technical Expertise & Product Knowledge

Must possess strong technical knowledge in:

* LED lighting technologies

* Drivers and power supplies

* Optics and photometrics

* Thermal management

* Surge protection

* Mounting systems

* Lighting calculations and layouts

* Sports lighting standards and aiming

* Industrial hazardous/high-bay applications

* Commercial lighting applications

* Smart lighting systems and networking

3. Controls Expertise (In-Depth)

Strong understanding of 0-10V dimming, DALI / DALI-2, DMX controls, Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee, Wireless controls, Motion/occupancy sensors, Daylight harvesting, Emergency controls, Scheduling systems, Centralized lighting management systems, Smart city/sports control integration, IoT-based lighting systems, Remote monitoring and diagnostics.

4. Market Research & Competitive Analysis

* Conduct continuous market research to identify emerging technologies, market gaps, customer pain points, competitor products/pricing, industry trends.

* Analyze market opportunities across municipal, commercial, industrial, warehouse, sports & stadium, infrastructure projects

* Prepare competitive comparison reports and positioning strategies

5. Product Solution Development

* Develop application-based lighting solutions for customers and projects.

* Work closely with sales teams to support project specifications, lighting layouts, value engineering, product recommendations, technical presentations

* Provide complete lighting solution packages including fixtures, controls, and accessories.

* Recommend optimized lighting and controls solutions based on application requirements and customer goals.

6. Product Training & Technical Support

* Conduct product training sessions for sales teams, distributors, contractors, agents and representatives, customers/end users

* Develop technical training materials, presentations, and product guides.

* Support field teams with technical product knowledge and application guidance.

* Assist in onboarding and educating internal teams on new products and technologies.

7. Troubleshooting & Application Understanding

* Support troubleshooting of field issues related to drivers, controls, dimming systems, sensors, installation challenges, photometric performance, network/control integration

* Understand application requirements across different environments including warehouses, factories, parking lots, sports fields/stadiums, offices, retail and municipal infrastructure

* Work with engineering and QA teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

* Provide practical, application-focused technical support to customers and project teams.

* IP ratings

* IK ratings

* FCC compliance

* Buy American / BAA requirements

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration

* Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, QA/QC, marketing and sales teams

* Support factory coordination for product improvements and quality enhancements.

* Assist in resolving customer technical concerns and improving product reliability.

10. Customer & Industry Engagement

* Meet with distributors, contractors, consultants, engineers, and end users.

* Participate in trade shows, product launches, and industry events.

* Conduct technical product demonstrations and educational seminars.

Qualifications

*Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Product Management, Industrial Engineering or related field

* 5–10+ years in lighting industry product management, application engineering, or technical product support.

* Strong experience in commercial, industrial, sports lighting and smart control systems

* Experience with specification-grade lighting products preferred
