The Key Account Manager (KAM) – Energies & Chemicals will be responsible for managing and growing strategic accounts across the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, gas, and new energy sectors.

The role demands strong domain knowledge of the chemical industry and its processes, consultative selling capability, and long-term relationship management with CXO, plant, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

  • Own and manage key accounts in chemicals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, fertilizers, polymers, and downstream energy segments
  • Develop account growth strategies, including wallet-share expansion and long-term engagement plans
  • Build multi-level relationships with CXOs, plant heads, projects, maintenance, procurement, and R&D teams

Business Development & Sales

  • Drive order booking, revenue growth, and margin improvement across assigned accounts
  • Identify opportunities in:
    • Brownfield & greenfield projects
    • Plant revamps, debottlenecking, digitalization, and sustainability initiatives
    • Energy transition areas (green hydrogen, biofuels, CCUS, recycling, specialty chemicals)
  • Lead proposal development, techno-commercial negotiations, and contract closures
Chemical Industry Specialization

  • Deep understanding of chemical processes, utilities, and unit operations
  • Exposure to industries such as:
    • Specialty & performance chemicals
    • Petrochemicals & polymers
    • Fertilizers & agrochemicals
    • Chlor-alkali, methanol, ammonia, hydrogen
  • Ability to position solutions for:
    • Process optimization
    • Energy Management
    • Energy efficiency
    • Safety, automation, and compliance
    • Sustainability and emissions reduction
Project & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as a single point of contact between customer and internal teams (engineering, projects, service, finance)
  • Support execution teams during project lifecycle to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Monitor customer feedback, resolve escalations, and ensure repeat business

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track industry trends, competitor activities, and upcoming investments
  • Provide inputs to leadership on market opportunities, pricing strategies, and portfolio gaps
  • Contribute to annual business planning and forecasting

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong end user selling and consultative solution mindset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand complex chemical processes and technical solutions
  • Financial acumen for pricing, margins, and commercial terms
  • High level of ownership and strategic thinking
  • Experience with EPCs, technology licensors, OEMs, automation, instrumentation, or process equipment
  • Prior exposure to large chemical complexes, refineries, gas processing plants, or energy projects
  • Familiarity with Indian chemical majors and EPC ecosystem
