What You’ll Do
- Preform daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities; and provide hands-on support during periods of peak activity and staff absences.
- Manage international contract invoices, including foreign-currency billing and VAT tax calculations.
- Review the VAT filing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment of supporting financial data prior to submission for approval.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial performance reports including revenue, income/loss analysis, and quarterly financial results.
- Prepare a 13-week cash forecast, providing financial input regarding payment timing and adjustments to support effective cash-flow management.
- Coordinate the month end closing process, ensuring timely completion of accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare and review international journal entries for accuracy and compliance prior to approval.
- Support the Controller in the preparation of budgets and indirect rate projections, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Provide support related to annual financial audits, preparation of provisional billing rates and other auditor inquiries, as needed.
- Support the forecasting process by preparing projections to include revenue, direct and indirect costs as well as unallowable costs.
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly forecasting, monthly financial reporting and other financial status updates as needed.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis of financial statements, to include variance explanations and operational insights.
- Support the annual insurance renewal, providing required financial data and analysis.
- Participate in meetings and coordinate ad hoc deliverables to support business operations and organizational objectives.
- 5-7 years applicable experience required
- Strong understanding of the financial applications of the FAR to oversee the daily accounting functions of a Federal Government Contractor.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR/DFAR, SBA, GSA, and Service Contract Act.
- Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint, NetSuite and QuickBooks Time are a must.
- Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Ability to effectively prepare and present financial information and analysis to management.
- Experience supporting accounting and/or finance operations within a government contracting environment, including financial reporting, cost accounting, project accounting, and financial forecasting.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and collaborating effectively in a team setting.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with financial calculations are required to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position.
- Experience with international accounting processes, including foreign currency transactions, international invoicing, and VAT tax requirements.
- Experience with governmental travel regulations, including knowledge of allowable and unallowable expenses in accordance with applicable contract requirements.
- Experience applying approved labor, indirect, and billing rates to support accurate project costing, invoicing and financial reporting.
