Team Lead Quality Assurance

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Lead and strategically develop a manual QA and test automation team.
• Define a future-proof test automation strategy across all test levels (unit, integration, system, performance, stress tests).
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to balance deliverability, quality, and risk.
• Establish Shift-Left, Automation-First, and risk-based testing in development processes.
• Apply technical expertise to design and advance scalable test frameworks, harnesses, and CI/CD integrations.
• Drive the use of AI-supported test automation, utilizing tools like Claude Code for test generation and maintenance.

What You'll Need

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field.
• Several years of experience leading QA and test automation teams, with practical experience in load, stress, and performance testing.
• Strong technical skills and in-depth practical experience in test automation, capable of developing an experienced team.
• Good programming skills in at least one modern language (e.g., C#, Java, Python, TypeScript).
• Experience systematically embedding quality in agile development processes (Shift-Left, risk-based testing, Automation-First).
• Initiative, solution-orientation, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking.
• Proficient in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Ideally, experience with AI in QA (e.g., Claude Code).
