We're looking for a Total Rewards Specialist to join our Total Rewards team to support the administration and delivery of benefits and compensation programs across the employee lifecycle. As a member of our detail-oriented and service-focused team, you will split your time evenly between benefits administration and compensation support, with particular depth in leave of absence (LOA) case management. We are looking for someone who is eager to grow within the Total Rewards/ People Team space. You will use your Excel skills and Total Rewards expertise to deliver accurate, compliant, and responsive support to employees, managers, and other organizational departments.
You'll report to the Manager, Benefits and work from our Santa Ana, CA office (hybrid). Remote candidates will also be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1 hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite 3 days a week.
What You'll Do:
Benefits (~50%)
Serve as the primary point of contact for the end-to-end administration of leave of absence (LOA) programs, including FMLA, ADA, state and local leave laws, short- and long-term disability, and parental leave.
Administer health and welfare, and other benefits programs, including enrollment, eligibility, qualifying life events, and vendor invoice reconciliation.
Ensure LOA and benefits practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations; monitor for changes in leave law and update processes accordingly.
Respond to employee, manager and other organizational departments inquiries regarding leave, benefits eligibility, and plan provisions with a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and discretion.
Support Collectors’ annual Open Enrollment process, ongoing benefits audits, and employee benefits communications.
Compensation (~50%)
Execute HRIS, compensation and benefits related tasks and transactions, ensuring changes flow appropriately throughout our systems to support data integrity and compliance.
Support core compensation programs, including job leveling, market benchmarking, and ongoing maintenance of the salary structure.
Assist with data preparation and compensation-related audits to ensure accuracy and compliance (i.e.pay equity, step structure, annual compensation review cycle, and promotions)
Maintain Excel-based models and reports for stakeholders to ensure they have accurate information to support compensation decision-making.
Coordinate with People Team members, including HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition, to ensure compensation and benefits changes are implemented accurately and consistently.
Who You Are:
4–6 years of related HR experience in a high growth setting: strong preference for benefits related experience.
Hands-on experience administering leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, state leave laws) is required.
3-5 years of strong Excel experience (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
Understanding of federal and state employment and leave laws, either through certification or direct experience.
HRIS experience (Workday preferred).
Excellent organization and administration skills with high attention to detail.
Provides strong customer service and stakeholder management experience
Collaborative, helpful team player who coordinates smoothly across People Team functions.
Curious self-starter with a growth mindset; you see new challenges as opportunities to learn and build.
Operational-minded with a focus on efficiency, effectiveness, and clarity.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $28 - $36.75/hour. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
