[Remote] Country Manager (Fintech)

Must-have Requirements

• 5+ years of operational experience in tech, including fintech, marketplaces, delivery, or similar.
• Proven track record of owning growth, including channels, funnels, and experiments with measurable results.
• Product experience, including roadmaps, specs, and collaboration with engineering/design teams.
• Technical ability to query data and build small tools, including SQL and GitHub.
• Heavy AI tooling user, using AI daily for research, analysis, and content production.
• Fluent in English and the country's native language.
• Based in the country you will run.

The company is expanding into priority markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, with the support of its San Francisco HQ team, which is mostly composed of engineers. The company has achieved a scale of millions of users within the first weeks of launching in other markets.

The company enters markets with Uno, a consumer app offering financial features powered by novel algorithms designed to redefine how financial behaviors are understood. From there, the business expands into enterprise and government partnerships, with a focus on achieving speed at scale across the region.

Role Overview

As Country Manager, you will launch and run markets, owning the market end-to-end across growth, operations, go-to-market, and local partnerships. You will have the trust and support of the San Francisco HQ team while taking ownership of the local market.

This is an operational role that requires you to move between technical details and the bigger picture, while identifying and generating ideas quickly in a high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Country Manager, you will:

• Own the country's launch plan and P&L, product stack, market research, go-to-market, and hiring.
• Drive growth across paid, referral, organic influencer, and community channels.
• Own local creative, including campaign concepts, copy, and content adapted to the local market.
• Conduct continuous user research, surface local insights, and feed findings back into product and engineering.
• Set up local operations, including customer support and banking/payment partnerships.
• Conduct data analysis using SQL and dashboards and work directly with product and engineering.
• Drive product localization, including onboarding, copy, pricing, and local payment rails.

Requirements

Experience & Background

• 5+ years of operational experience in tech.
• Experience in fintech, marketplaces, delivery, or similar industries is relevant.
• Prior experience owning growth and product is required.

Technical Skills

• SQL and dashboard-based data analysis.
• Ability to build small tools using technical platforms such as GitHub.
• Ability to work directly with product and engineering teams.
• Strong familiarity with AI tools for research, analysis, and content production.

Soft Skills & Traits

• High-energy and proactive.
• Able to move between detailed technical work and big-picture thinking.
• Strong ability to identify and surface new ideas.

Language Proficiency

• Fluent in English.
• Fluent in the native language of the country being managed.
