About the Role
As a QA Engineer, you’ll partner closely with Engineering and Product to ensure we deliver a high-quality, cloud-based SaaS platform. You’ll own manual and automated testing, validate new features, and help identify and troubleshoot issues across the product. Working with Engineering, Product, and business teams, you’ll help align testing with the product roadmap, investigate complex product questions, and provide thoughtful feedback that improves both product quality and user experience.
What You’ll Do
- Perform manual and automated end-to-end testing
- Perform web-based and mobile application testing: integration, functional, regression, mobile device, interface/compatibility based on functional and non-functional specifications and test plans
- Write test cases based on specifications
- Act as a critical team player
- Employ well-developed analytical and communication skills to log detailed bugs, clarify requirements, validate test plans and provide release status updates
- Maintain the regression test checklist and work with other QA team members on the creation of constant new test cases/scenarios
- Write detailed reproduction steps within issue tracking systems
- Mark issues with correct classification of urgency and severity
- Estimate testing effort across multiple feature sets
- Work closely with development/product to troubleshoot and remediate issues
- Deploy feature sets to test environments
- Write automated testing scripts
- Maintain scripts through source control
- Production release support
- On-boarding / off-boarding employee in systems
- Technical support for endpoint devices
- Customer success support
What You Have
- Proven ability to work with cloud-based infrastructure: AWS, Heroku, Lambda
- Exposure to automated testing harness and scripting
- Must be able to adapt and adjust to highly agile development methodologies
- Working knowledge of event-driven architecture and microservices
- Familiarity with mobile testing and mobile test techniques
- Strong best practice knowledge: bug-writing, regression, and test case creation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and well-developed problem-solving skills
- Must have independent learning traits, and seeks information and knowledge
- Mastery of various test techniques: exploratory, negative testing, boundary, end-to-end, connectivity testing, data integrity testing, etc.
