We’re looking for a highly engaged Quality Assurance Engineer with German to join one of our projects within a large‑scale telecommunications environment. The project aims to validate and ensure the quality of legacy applications as they are transformed into modern, scalable, and user‑centric web interfaces, delivering seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on a modern and technically complex project, where quality plays a key role in ensuring reliable and high‑performing solutions at scale. You will have real ownership of the testing activities (manual and automation), contribute directly to product quality, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams. It’s an excellent chance to join early, help shape testing processes, and have a visible impact on the success of high‑quality solutions, as we are currently ramping up several newly formed teams after securing a new strategic client.
What You'll Be Doing
- Analyze functional requirements and business specifications
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for UI and REST API testing
- Design, write, and maintain manual test cases and test scenarios (including Gherkin – Given / When / Then)
- Plan and execute manual testing activities (functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing)
- Manage test cases and test execution in Jira using Xray
- Document test results and create clear, detailed defect reports
- Reproduce, analyze, and track software defects throughout their lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices
- Create and maintain test plans, test data, and testing environments
- Support release activities and acceptance testing (UAT)
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Daily, Refinement, Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective)
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field
- At least 4 years of experience developing and maintaining UI and REST API test automation using Playwright
- Experience in manual software testing, preferably within Agile environments (e.g., Scrum)
- Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, test management, and QA documentation
- Experience working with test management tools such as Jira and Xray
- Experience writing and maintaining test specifications using Gherkin syntax
- Understanding of BDD concepts (hands-on experience with Cucumber is a plus, not mandatory)
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is an advantage
- ISTQB certification is considered a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & German are mandatory for this role
