Senior Software Automation Tester

Seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and execute automated test solutions for cybersecurity applications in a mission-focused defense environment. This role partners closely with development and security teams to improve software quality, reduce risk, and support compliance in an Agile/SAFe delivery model.
Role And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for cybersecurity applications
- Execute automated functional, regression, integration, and system tests
- Perform compliance testing and document results in accordance with program and security requirements
- Collaborate with developers, security engineers, and stakeholders to identify defects, reproduce issues, and verify fixes
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and report findings using Jira and Confluence
- Contribute to test process improvement within Scrum ceremonies and SAFe practices
- Use Selenium, TASER, GitLab (or equivalent source control), and related tooling to support continuous testing
- Hands-on experience with Python or another structured language (Java or C#)
- Working knowledge of GitLab or another code repository
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing
- Experience analyzing test results, identifying defects, and troubleshooting
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work with developers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Must obtain SAFe for Teams, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, Agile Technical Tester, and Implementing Test Process Improvement certifications within 12 months of start date
- Prior experience testing cybersecurity or DoD applications
- Experience with penetration testing or vulnerability assessment activities in support of development teams
- Existing SAFe, ISTQB, or related testing certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Software Development, or a related STEM field and 18 years of relevant professional experience; or Master’s degree in one of the same fields and 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Active DoD Secret clearance required
- Top Secret with SCI eligibility highly desired
- Place of work is Colorado Springs; remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.
