About My Client: A growing European B2B SaaS scale-up in Berlin building intelligent workflow automation platforms. We seek a strategic, hands-on Head / Director of ML & AI to lead AI initiatives and scale the engineering function.

Role Overview: Report to the CTO, own end-to-end AI/ML strategy, bridge technical research with commercial value, and lead a cross-functional group of data scientists and ML engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute long-term AI/ML roadmaps aligned with business goals.
• Lead, mentor, and expand a team of ML engineers and data scientists.
• Oversee the design and scaling of production-grade ML infrastructure and LLM pipelines.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed intelligent features into core products.
• Establish robust frameworks for model monitoring, cost optimization, and responsible AI.

What We Are Looking For:

• 8+ years of applied ML experience with 3+ years in a senior leadership role scaling teams.
• Deep expertise in modern ML, deep learning architectures, and LLMs (Python, PyTorch).
• Proven track record taking complex ML systems to production on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong stakeholder management and business acumen.
• Degree in Computer Science, AI, or a quantitative field.
