Indexed description

Dalux continues to grow rapidly, and we're looking for a Manager for our Operations Team to help us scale how we operate our production systems and ensure that Dalux continues to deliver reliable and stable services to customers around the world.

As our products and Development organization grow, operational excellence and reliability become increasingly important. At the same time, we believe that the teams building our products should take responsibility for how they perform in production.

You will lead and develop the Operations Team responsible for production operations, monitoring, incident and problem management, release execution, and service availability. You will also work closely with our Product Teams and other engineering teams to improve operational maturity, automate repetitive work, and enable Product Teams to take increasing ownership of the reliability and operational readiness of their services.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong background in production operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or similar – rather than a traditional IT Operations Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and grow the Operations Team, including recruiting new team members, coaching engineers, and helping them perform at their best.
  • Organization & Ways of Working: Develop the organization, responsibilities, processes, and engineering practices needed for Operations as Dalux continues to scale.
  • Production Reliability: Drive improvements in availability, stability, performance, and operational resilience across Dalux.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Ensure effective handling of production incidents, root cause analysis, and systematic follow-up to prevent recurring issues.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Improve our ability to understand the health and performance of our applications and identify issues before they impact customers.
  • Operational Ownership: Work with Product Teams to establish clear service ownership and enable them to take responsibility for the reliability and operational readiness of what they build.
  • Automation: Reduce operational toil through automation, better tooling, and improved engineering practices.
  • Release & Change Management: Ensure reliable and predictable production releases, hotfixes, and changes while continuously improving how we deploy software.

About you:

We are looking for a Manager who combines strong people leadership with engineering understanding and operational experience .

You don't need to implement every technical solution yourself, but you should have enough technical depth to understand complex production systems, challenge engineering decisions, and earn the trust of experienced engineers.

We believe you:

  • Have experience leading and developing an Operations, SRE, Production Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, or similar engineering team.
  • Enjoy coaching engineers, building teams, recruiting talent, and creating an environment where people can perform and develop.
  • Have significant experience operating business-critical software or SaaS systems in production.
  • Understand modern reliability practices such as observability, incident management, root cause analysis, SLOs/SLIs, and reducing operational toil.
  • Have experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and understand software delivery, deployment, and infrastructure automation.
  • Have experience managing major production incidents and can remain structured and decisive when systems are under pressure.
  • Believe that operational responsibility should be shared with the engineering teams building the software rather than centralized entirely in Operations.
  • Prefer automation and engineering solutions over recurring manual work and unnecessary processes.
  • Take a pragmatic approach to operational processes and governance . Experience with ITIL or similar frameworks can be valuable, but we favor lightweight, effective engineering practices over process-heavy IT service management.
  • Can collaborate effectively across Product Development, Infrastructure Engineering, Developer Enablement, Security, Support, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate fluently in English, written and spoken.

Experience with Windows Server/IIS, infrastructure as code, application performance monitoring, databases, networking, or large-scale distributed systems is an advantage, but we don't expect you to be an expert in everything.

What matters most is that you can build and develop a strong Operations Team while creating an engineering culture around reliable production systems .

What to expect at Dalux:

At Dalux, you'll join a product-driven company where ideas quickly become reality and where you'll have a direct impact on how we build and operate software used by customers around the world.

We offer:

  • A collaborative and informal work environment
  • High ownership, trust, and the freedom to drive initiatives
  • Talented and dedicated colleagues in an international organization
  • A central Copenhagen office, flexible work hours, and no dress code
  • Monthly social events and an active community
  • Attractive benefits including health insurance, lunch, fitness facilities, and free parking
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development

Ready for the next step?

We are reviewing applications on an ongoing basis, so please submit your resume and application as soon as possible.
