Senior/Lead AKAMAI Security Expert

We're looking for a highly capable Senior/Lead AKAMAI Security Expert to become part of our team, offering specialized support in protecting eCommerce platforms from security threats.

The right candidate will possess in-depth technical mastery of AKAMAI CDN services, particularly in areas like bot detection and mitigation, DDoS defense, and application-layer protection. You'll work in close coordination with our cybersecurity, DevOps, and eCommerce development groups to build, deploy, and sustain strong security postures across high-volume digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Function as the go-to subject matter expert for AKAMAI security capabilities, with particular focus on Bot Manager, Web Application Protector (WAP), and DDoS protection
• Set up and fine-tune AKAMAI CDN rules and security settings to match business and application requirements
• Track and evaluate security threats emerging across the eCommerce environment
• Craft mitigation approaches and incident response protocols
• Contribute to continuous enhancements in bot detection, rate limiting, edge security policy, and custom rule configuration
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to resolve issues and apply sound practices in edge security
• Deliver documentation, deliver training sessions, and support knowledge transfer to internal teams as needed

Requirements

• Between 6 and 14 years of general IT background, including a minimum of 6 years focused on Security Engineering
• AKAMAI certification credentials or equivalent practical, hands-on expertise
• Strong command of AKAMAI CDN services, particularly around bot detection and mitigation, DDoS protection, and application-layer security
• Background operating within regulated sectors or environments governed by PCI-DSS or GDPR compliance standards
• Skilled at working collaboratively with application development, QA, and DevOps teams
• English proficiency at a B2 level to support clear communication and documentation
