Our story goes back more than 150 years, to the chilly southern coast of Scandinavia. From our early success in Sweden and Denmark, we’ve grown into the world’s leading specialist producer of plant-based oils, employing more than 4,000 people all across the globe.

We work with our customers to make the products you love even better. The oils we produce go into making your chocolate extra-creamy or putting the crunch into your croissant. And it’s not just food — we work across industries to make products that are higher quality, healthier and better for the planet.

Everything we do is about Making Better Happen™.

AAK Malmö

This position is based in Malmö, Sweden

About The Role

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing how businesses operate, innovate, and create value. At AAK, we see AI as an important enabler of future growth and are investing in the internal capabilities needed to support our long-term ambitions.

As AI Capability Lead, you will shape and scale how AI is adopted across AAK. You will build the capabilities, governance, and ways of working needed to make AI a natural part of how the company works, innovates, and creates value. The role translates AI opportunities into scalable solutions and measurable business value, while strengthening internal ownership and execution capability.

This is a global role within AAK’s Enterprise Technology & Architecture function, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology & Architecture. You will initially lead a team of approximately five people and work across the organization with business leaders, production sites, enterprise architects, developers, data specialists, security specialists, and IT colleagues globally.

Responsibilities

As AI Capability Lead, your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Build and scale AAK’s internal AI capabilities across the organization, including team structure, governance frameworks, ways of working, and reusable AI patterns.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI use cases together with business and IT stakeholders, translating needs and opportunities into feasible, high-value initiatives.
  • Drive AI pilots and initiatives from idea through implementation and value realization, moving from experimentation to scalable, production-ready solutions with measurable business impact.
  • Define AI architecture principles, standards, reusable patterns, responsible AI principles, and technical guardrails in close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data, Integration, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Evaluate AI platforms, models, tools, and emerging technologies, recommending suitable approaches and promoting reusable capabilities rather than isolated point solutions.
  • Establish AI governance and responsible AI frameworks to support ethical, secure, and compliant AI adoption across AAK.
  • Coach, inspire, and enable colleagues across the organization while helping to shape AAK’s long-term AI direction and capability build-up.

About You

To be successful in the role you need:

  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and agentic workflows.
  • Experience with Azure AI and/or Azure OpenAI, the Microsoft Copilot ecosystem, cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and API-based integrations.
  • Experience or strong understanding of enterprise architecture, information security, governance, software engineering, or solution architecture as it applies to AI implementation.
  • Proven ability to identify, qualify, prioritize, and deliver AI use cases from idea to scalable implementation, with a clear focus on measurable business value.
  • An architecture, governance, responsible AI, and security mindset, with the ability to define standards, guardrails, and reusable patterns at enterprise level.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to engage credibly with both executives and engineers.
  • A genuine capability-building mindset and a talent for coaching and inspiring colleagues.
  • Fluency in English. Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is an advantage.

As a person, you are curious and continuously learning, pragmatic rather than driven by hype, collaborative and generous with your knowledge. You are comfortable challenging existing ways of working and remain focused on delivering business value.

In return AAK offer

  • Join a pioneering company in specialty oils and fats, driving innovation and sustainability.
  • In AAK you can work across 25+ countries, gaining international exposure and collaborating with a diverse team.
  • AAK invests in your development with training, mentorship, and clear career paths.
  • You will contribute to a greener world with AAK's sustainability-focused approach.
  • Join a diverse and inclusive workplace that values every individual's perspective and talents.
