- We are looking for an experienced contractor to support our Atlassian environment, with the primary focus being Jira Service Management (JSM) Assets. The ideal candidate should have expert-level, hands-on experience with JSM Assets, including schema and object model design, object relationships, imports and data feeds, reconciliation, data quality, and CMDB best practices. Experience with Atlassian Analytics, APIs, SQL, Asset data manager, reporting, and integrations would also be beneficial. Please let me know if you have candidates who align with this skill set. This contract will be until the end of the Fiscal Year.

Position Summary

The IT Asset & Analytics Analyst is responsible for improving the accuracy, structure, and operational value of data within Jira Service Management (JSM) Assets. This role enhances asset schemas and object models, supports Business Service implementation, and develops Atlassian Analytics reporting and executive dashboards for platform health and operational performance. The position also leads reporting modernization efforts, improves batch job visibility, and supports the retirement of legacy reporting platforms. The analyst partners closely with technical and business teams to establish trusted data sources, sustainable reporting practices, and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Data Quality, Schema & Service Modeling (35%)

· Maintain and improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency within Jira Service Management Assets.

· Analyze and remediate duplicate, stale, orphaned, incomplete, or improperly modeled asset records.

· Design and enhance asset schemas, object types, attributes, relationships, import mappings, reconciliation logic, and automations.

· Implement and manage Business Services within Assets and their relationships to applications, infrastructure, service queues, and configuration items.

· Validate asset data feeds, integrations, imports, and automated processes.

· Collaborate with data owners and technical teams to establish data governance, ownership, and validation standards.

Analytics, Reporting & Executive Dashboards (30%)

· Expand and enhance Atlassian Analytics datasets, dashboards, reporting, and query capabilities.

· Develop executive dashboards that provide visibility into platform health, service performance, operational metrics, and data quality.

· Modernize reporting by migrating capabilities to supported Atlassian platforms and reducing reliance on EazyBI.

· Create recurring and ad hoc reports supporting leadership, operational reviews, audits, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

· Define reporting standards, metrics, thresholds, and validation processes.

· Streamline reporting by eliminating redundancy and improving access to actionable insights.

Legacy Platform Modernization & Decommissioning (20%)

· Support the retirement of Apex and Report2Web platforms.

· Identify active reports, users, integrations, dependencies, and replacement requirements.

· Coordinate migration of reporting capabilities to supported platforms.

· Develop and execute testing and validation plans for migrated reports and dashboards.

· Retire obsolete reporting processes, integrations, and configurations after successful migration.

Operational Monitoring, Batch Reporting & Support (15%)

· Improve monitoring and reporting of batch job failures and operational exceptions.

· Analyze batch processing trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.

· Monitor asset data feeds, integrations, and scheduled reporting processes.

· Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of data quality and reporting issues.

· Maintain documentation for asset schemas, dashboards, reports, integrations, and decommissioning activities.

· Support incidents, changes, problem management activities, and operational reviews related to Assets and analytics functions.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.

· Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.

· Hands-on experience with JSM Assets and Atlassian Analytics strongly preferred.

· Strong understanding of CMDB and IT asset management concepts, including:

o Schema and object modeling

o Data relationships and normalization

o Reconciliation processes

o Authoritative data sources

o Data quality management

· Experience building and maintaining executive dashboards, operational reporting, and performance metrics.

· Working knowledge of:

o SQL

o Excel

o APIs

o Data imports and integrations

o Automation platforms and processes

· Experience modernizing legacy reporting solutions and supporting platform decommissioning efforts.

· Knowledge of batch processing and job scheduling environments, including monitoring and trend analysis.

· Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data models, dashboards, reports, and measurable outcomes.

· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
