Data Analyst | Birmingham (Hybrid) | Up to £40,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

Work for a successful, technology-driven business operating within the transport and commercial services sector. Following a sustained period of growth, they are continuing to invest in their data, analytics and digital capabilities.

As part of this investment, they are looking to appoint a Junior Data Analyst to join their growing data and technology function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Power BI, working closely with experienced data and technology professionals while gaining exposure to a wide range of business and technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards.
• Assist with creating and maintaining reporting datasets and data models.
• Write and develop SQL queries to extract, transform and analyse data.
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into clear analytical outputs.
• Tell stories with the data, providing proper, actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support the team in exploring opportunities for AI and automation.

Essential Experience

• 2+ years experience working with data commercially
• Good working knowledge of SQL.
• Exposure to Power BI or another BI/reporting tool.
• Understanding of data analysis, reporting and visualisation principles.
• Good Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• A relevant degree, qualification or training in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a similar subject.
