Observability Engineer (Datadog) III
Indexed description
Job Summary
The Observability Engineer (Datadog) plays a central role in consolidating a fragmented monitoring estate onto Datadog as our single observability platform and migrating application performance monitoring off AppDynamics. This role does the engineering that makes that real: instrumenting services, standing up integrations, and building the monitors, dashboards, and service level objectives that teams actually use during an incident.
The work has two phases and you will do both: migration, moving instrumentation and coverage onto Datadog service by service and retiring what it replaces; and platform operations, running Datadog well, keeping the signal clean, controlling what we ingest, and enabling other teams to self-serve. Our outcome measure is business impact minutes: everything this team builds is judged on whether it helps us detect a problem before a customer does and diagnose it faster once we are on the call. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a monitoring or command center role.
- Ability to work on‑site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role. *
