About the client and role
Our client is a leading global tire manufacturer with a strong history in product innovation and sustainable mobility. Their OE division supplies high-quality tires to major automotive OEM customers across North America.
Working from the Michigan office, the OE Senior Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for key automotive OEM accounts. This individual will manage the full account lifecycle, from new program development through ongoing business growth, and will work closely with senior leadership across OE operations.
Responsibilities
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with major OEM accounts and key decision-makers across purchasing, engineering, and quality.
• Lead new business development by identifying vehicle program opportunities, managing RFQ processes, and presenting competitive proposals.
• Manage the full OE program lifecycle from early vehicle development through SOP, coordinating customer-facing and internal activities.
• Act as the primary liaison between OEM customers and internal teams including engineering, quality, supply chain, and customer service.
• Ensure technical compliance with OEM tire specifications, homologation requirements, IATF 16949 standards, and TPMS regulations.
• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, annual cost reductions, contract terms, and periodic price reviews.
• Monitor OEM quality scorecards and coordinate timely resolution of warranty claims and field issues.
• Prepare account performance reports, sales forecasts, and QBR materials for senior leadership and OEM customers.
• Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and OEM supplier forums.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of experience in OE tire sales, account management, or automotive supplier sales.
• Tire manufacturer experience is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record managing Tier 1 automotive OEM accounts with direct ownership of revenue targets.
• Strong knowledge of OEM procurement processes, homologation standards, IATF 16949, TPMS regulations, and vehicle program management, including SOP, PPAP, and gate reviews.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with EV tire requirements and the evolving EV OEM landscape is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA is advantageous.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%; valid driver’s license required.
