Python Developer with AWS working knowledge

The Business Operations Analytics (BOA) team is looking for a Python Developer to join our rapidly growing and innovative team. The BOA team will be expanding its portfolio of projects to include the development of application tooling, designing lakehouses, and migrating entire data warehouses to newer platforms.

An experienced Python Developer will be needed to implement data-centric solutions in AWS. Candidates will be required to have proven experience building APIs and/or ETL jobs using Python. Efficiently extracting data from both legacy and cloud data-sources and then formatting and packaging data for storage or output will be a key responsibility for this role.

Candidates must work well directly with stakeholders and changing requirements while being able to develop timely solutions within the team's framework . The ability to write lightweight code that follows team and industry-best practices for extracting, transforming, and loading data will be essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Create solutions for AWS cloud environments
• Develop AWS services using APIs, RDS instances, and Lambda functions
• Write robust, effective, and scalable code for AWS applications
• Implement APIs and other back-end services
• Improve algorithms and AWS application performance
• Work in a team of developers and designers, sharing ideas, and developing native mobile applications
• Run unit and integration tests for AWS-based applications
• Conduct AWS code reviews and ensure code quality and standards compliance
• Participate in agile development processes related to AWS projects

• 3+ years of experience as a Python Developer with a strong portfolio of projects.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS services
• Familiarity with web services such as API and REST
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of effective teamwork
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions
• Practical experience in consuming data from varied data sources in the cloud (via APIs, S3, event streams)
• In-depth understanding of the Python software development stacks, ecosystems, frameworks and tools such as Numpy, Scipy, Pandas.
• Practical experience in designing, and implementing data warehouses
• Practical experience with SQL, including schema/table/view design and optimization (Oracle DB experience preferred)

• Being a self-starter always looking for forward progress will be key to success
• Focusing on delivery at all times and phases of a project
