The Head of Quality will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing the quality assurance and quality control systems across the green hydrogen value chain. This includes the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation of green hydrogen production facilities. The role ensures that all products, services, and processes meet rigorous industry, regulatory, and customer standards—supporting the organization’s mission of delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable hydrogen solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and hydrogen-specific standards.
- Lead the quality function across all business units and project stages, including EPC (engineering, procurement, construction), operations, and supply chain.
- Drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Project Quality Management
- Establish quality control plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality procedures for green hydrogen projects (e.g., electrolyzers, compressors, storage tanks, pipelines).
- Ensure quality compliance during project execution, including vendor qualification, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and operations.
- Review and approve quality documentation from EPCs, OEMs, and contractors.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Quality
- Lead vendor evaluation, audits, and approval processes to ensure quality of equipment and materials specific to hydrogen applications.
- Work with procurement and engineering teams to implement robust incoming inspection and quality control systems.
- Regulatory & Industry Standards Compliance
- Ensure compliance with international and local standards such as ISO, IEC, ASME, API, PED, and hydrogen-specific norms (e.g., ISO 14687, IEC 62282).
- Serve as the company’s representative in external audits and certification processes.
- Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality incidents and non-conformances.
- Use tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and FMEA to drive process optimization and defect reduction.
- Reporting & Performance Management
- Develop and monitor quality KPIs and report performance to senior management.
- Lead internal and external quality audits, management reviews, and third-party assessments.
