Qualifications & Core Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Petroleum Land Management, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Significant hands-on experience with Quorum and OGSYS is required.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas title, mineral ownership, and land documentation.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and validating WI/NRI ownership decks with a high degree of decimal accuracy.
- Background working directly with royalty owners and processing ownership changes.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Position Overview
The Division Order Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate ownership records and ensuring interests are properly established and distributed throughout the life of an oil and gas well. This position works closely with Land, Operations, Accounting, and outside legal resources to research ownership, address title issues, maintain interest records, and support timely revenue distributions.
Key Responsibilities
Ownership & Division Order Management
- Review and interpret title opinions to determine ownership interests and identify outstanding title requirements.
- Prepare, issue, and maintain division orders and transfer orders for both new and producing properties.
- Develop and maintain working interest and net revenue interest decks for wells and verify decimal ownership calculations.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in ownership and interest distributions.
- Partner with landmen, attorneys, and outside counsel to coordinate title curative activities and resolve ownership issues.
Royalty Owner Support
- Act as a primary resource for royalty owners regarding ownership records, payments, and supporting check information.
- Research and process ownership changes, including assignments, estates, trusts, legal name changes, and address updates.
- Investigate and resolve owner payment questions, disputes, and suspense items in partnership with Revenue Accounting.
Well & Partner Support
- Prepare and distribute well proposals and AFEs to working interest partners in accordance with applicable operating agreements.
- Monitor partner responses and maintain records of consenting and non-consenting elections.
Land & Compliance Support
- Assist with maintaining accurate lease, unit, well, and ownership records within land and accounting systems.
- Provide general data and administrative support related to land and ownership activities.
- Help ensure ownership, payment, and related operational requirements are properly documented and maintained.
- Review and process funds requiring escheatment in accordance with applicable requirements.
