Our KDN Bulgaria Cloud Services unit is focused on designing, building, securing and managing cloud native & hybrid platforms for the KPMG group of member firms, as well as providing cloud advisory and engineering services to external clients.

We are looking for a Databricks Platform Architect to join our dynamic and growing Cloud practice. If you are passionate about designing scalable data platforms, enabling data-driven innovation, and helping organizations modernize their analytics landscape, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Description

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale Databricks platforms
• Design modern data lakehouse architectures leveraging Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and cloud-native services
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data platform solutions
• Define platform standards, governance frameworks, security controls, and operational best practices
• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and consumption frameworks
• Develop infrastructure and platform automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to data engineers, developers, and project teams
• Support migration and modernization initiatives from legacy data warehouses and analytics platforms
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, cost optimization, and security
• Contribute to project estimations, solution proposals, technical documentation, and delivery planning

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms using Databricks
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows
• Deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data governance, and analytics ecosystems
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks; experience with AWS Databricks or GCP Databricks is considered an advantage
• Experience with cloud-native data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake Storage, Event Hubs, or similar technologies
• Strong knowledge of Spark, PySpark, SQL, and data processing frameworks
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and platform automation
• Experience designing secure and compliant data platforms, including RBAC, data governance, and access management
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools
• Experience with data warehousing, business intelligence, and advanced analytics solutions
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and data platform operating models
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to articulate technical concepts and business value to both technical and executive audiences
• Databricks certifications are highly desirable
• Fluent English
