Power BI Consultant

Job Requirements*

• Work with multiple Senior Business Users, Review the Power BI reporting requirements and propose solutions

• 5+ years designing and developing reports and dashboards in Power BI

• Senior designer/ Architect with knowledge of PowerBi, Power Automate, Power Apps, DAX

• Azure, Databricks, SAP BW and HANA knowledge is preferred.

• Strong SQL skills (complex queries on relational databases, stored procedures, automation) required.

• Strong Excel skills (experience migrating data from Excel to Power BI strongly preferred) required

• Troubleshoot systems production/performance issues

• Initial Investigation & Solution Identification

• Work in aggressive delivery model in agile mode

• Work with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.

• Participate in team meetings to discuss project updates and progress.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Experienced in working in a customer facing role

Key Responsibilities*

[Data Modeling & Preparation]

• Design and optimize data models using star schemas.

• Develop and manage Power Query (M) transformations.

• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and refresh reliability.

[Report & Dashboard Development]

• Build interactive Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to business requirements.

• Implement DAX calculations (measures, KPIs, time intelligence).

• Optimize visuals for performance and usability.

[Data Integration]

• Connect to multiple data sources (SAP, SQL Server, Azure SQL, Databricks, ADLS, SAP, APIs).

• Implement incremental refresh and performance tuning techniques.

• Work with data engineering teams to align pipelines and datasets.

[Performance & Optimization]

• Optimize dataset size, refresh times, and report performance.

• Troubleshoot performance issues using Power BI performance analyzer.

• Apply best practices for model scalability and reusability.

[Security & Governance]

• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls.

• Support workspace management and dataset sharing standards.

• Follow organizational governance and compliance guidelines.
