DevOps Engineer
Location: Madison, WI
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – onsite 2 days per week
Contract Rate: $65-75/hour W2
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and maintain modern cloud infrastructure and deployment processes. This role will focus heavily on Microsoft Azure, GitHub Actions, and Terraform, with an emphasis on automation, infrastructure reliability, and efficient software delivery.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on DevOps or infrastructure professional who can work collaboratively with technical teams and effectively communicate across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Support, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure and services within Microsoft Azure.
- Improve deployment processes through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with development, infrastructure, and other technical teams to support reliable application delivery.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues and contribute to maintaining stable, scalable environments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Engineering, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, including 2 days onsite per week in Madison, WI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
- Microsoft Azure certification, such as:
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate
- Other relevant Azure certifications
