A growing Data & AI consultancy is looking for an experienced Databricks Engineer to join its expanding Data Engineering practice. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering modern cloud-based data platforms that enable advanced analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making for leading organisations across Belgium.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale data transformation projects, leveraging the latest technologies within the Databricks ecosystem while collaborating closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable data platforms using Databricks.
- Develop robust data pipelines that ingest and process data from multiple operational and enterprise systems.
- Build and optimise data solutions using Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
- Ensure data is reliable, accessible, and suitable for analytics, machine learning, and AI applications.
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions and technology best practices.
- Implement software engineering principles within data environments, including testing, version control, and CI/CD.
- Work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-value data products that support long-term business objectives.
- Explore and adopt emerging AI-driven engineering capabilities that improve development efficiency and platform performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with Databricks in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Apache Spark
- Delta Lake
- Unity Catalog (preferred)
- Python
- SQL
- Experience applying software engineering best practices, including:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Git version control
- CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building scalable data solutions.
- Fluent Dutch language skills (spoken and written) are essential.
