The Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2027, in Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience. Competitive candidates will have expertise in conducting basic human research in fundamental areas of cognition or cognitive neuroscience, including learning, memory, language, perception, neural network modeling, decision making, and/or large language models.
Research methodologies are open and can include (but are not limited to) cognitive experimental paradigms, EEG, TMS, fNIRS, fMRI, and psychophysics. Preference will be given to research programs that incorporate artificial intelligence, computational modeling, and/or machine learning into their study of human cognitive and/or neural processes. Preference will also be given to research that has relevance to human health, well-being, and/or adaptive processing.
As a faculty member in the Department of Psychological Sciences, you will be expected to conduct independent, productive, and programmatic research, compete for extramural research funding, teach undergraduate and graduate psychology courses, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
