Technical Lead/Data Architect

A PE backed, software company are looking to make a high-priority hire, with regular C-suite interaction, into their Data function. They're mostly known for helping large businesses (think Heineken, Specsavers and NBC) automate their invoicing processes and this role will be crucial in building their enterprise data platform, enabling them to use AI capabilities more extensively across the business, as well as providing reporting visibility for board meetings and future transactions.

With the help of a 3rd party, they built a Databricks data lake last year, but this knowledge no longer sits internally so they're looking for a Technical Lead, with this experience, to play a player/coach role - architecting, engineering and solutioning as well as leading the Data/Analytics team (existing team of 5, soon to be 6). Their tech stack is Databricks, Microsoft Azure, Medallion and Power BI which you'll need to be familiar with, as well as having a deep understanding of AI tools and the AI development lifecycle.

To be successful in the role, you'll need to have:

• An extensive background building and architecting data solutions
• Working experience with Databricks, Azure and Power BI
• Used AI coding tools such as Claude and Copilot and an interest in AI driven technologies
• Previous line management experience
• Ideally worked in a SaaS or FinTech environment - able to understand industry acronyms and metrics

This is a permanent role, which is mainly remote role (UK based), with occasional travel across Europe. Salary is up to £120k + 20% bonus.
