The role
A hands on Senior DevOps Engineer to build, automate and run a cloud platform on Microsoft Azure and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO). You will own how code moves from commit to production, and keep the platform stable, observable and secure once it gets there.
Responsibilities
- Administer and evolve Azure and ARO/OpenShift environments, including provisioning, upgrades, networking and access control
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that give teams fast, repeatable and auditable routes to production
- Automate infrastructure through code across dev, test and production
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes and OpenShift workloads in depth, from pod level issues to ingress, storage, RBAC and cluster networking
- Own monitoring, logging and alerting so issues are caught before users report them
- Embed secure delivery practices: secrets management, image scanning, policy enforcement and least privilege
Essential
- Strong commercial Azure administration, including identity, networking and governance
- Production OpenShift (ARO preferred) or Kubernetes experience
- CI/CD orchestration with Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or ArgoCD
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM or Ansible)
- Scripting in Bash, Python, PowerShell or Go
- Monitoring and logging stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, ELK or Splunk
- Secure delivery experience: Key Vault or HashiCorp Vault, container scanning, DevSecOps controls
Desirable
- Certifications such as EX280, AZ-104 or AZ-400
- Regulated or security sensitive environments (defence, aerospace, nuclear, financial services)
- GitOps, service mesh or platform engineering exposure
- Eligible for UK security clearance
