Cloud Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Specialist to join our team for one of our clients in the public sector. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in cloud platforms, infrastructure, networking, Windows Server, and cloud migration.

Position: Cloud Specialist

Experience: 5–6+ years

Location: 200 North St, Jackson, MS 39201.

Work Model: 100% Onsite

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: November 2026 – June 2027

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred/required as per requirement

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and modify scalable cloud architectures supporting IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Ensure security, compliance, data protection, and privacy across cloud environments.
• Support the migration of existing on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud platforms.
• Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design and maintain controls and processes using available cloud audit tools.
• Stay current with cloud products, services, technologies, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5–6+ years of experience working with AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, VPCs, and firewalls.
• Advanced experience with VM management.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with cloud automation and scripting.
• Strong networking knowledge.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Linux administration
• Experience with Python and Bash
• Experience with Microsoft 365
• Knowledge of vSphere
• Experience with storage technologies
• Previous experience working in government or regulated industries.
