Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Specialist to support a large-scale cloud migration initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, cloud migration, systems administration, networking, and automation. This role requires hands-on experience designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing cloud environments using Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
The Cloud Specialist will be responsible for migrating on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to the cloud while ensuring security, scalability, performance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Support Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
• Lead migration of on-premises applications and workloads to Azure or AWS.
• Configure and manage cloud networking, VPCs, firewalls, security groups, and connectivity.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Implement security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection controls.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud-based identity solutions.
• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Collaborate with technical teams to optimize cloud performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop governance, auditing, and monitoring processes for cloud environments.
• Maintain technical documentation and cloud architecture standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong experience in cloud migration projects.
• Advanced experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Experience with Active Directory and identity management.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including:
o VPCs/VNETs
o Firewalls
o Routing
o Security controls
o Network connectivity
• Experience managing virtual machines and cloud infrastructure.
• Intermediate to advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• 6+ years of Azure or AWS experience.
• Linux administration experience.
• VMware vSphere experience.
• Python and Bash scripting experience.
• Storage administration experience.
• Previous government, public sector, or regulated industry experience.
• Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications preferred.
