This is a fully on-site position located in Boise, Idaho. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role. The pay range is $25.00-$32.00 per hour, DOE.
Western Trailers is seeking an experienced Application Analyst to support, maintain, and improve the business applications used throughout our organization.
This role will serve as the connection between employees, department leaders, IT, software vendors, and executive leadership. The Application Analyst will translate operational needs into practical system solutions, troubleshoot application issues, improve workflows, support reporting needs, and help ensure our systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is required for this position. Experience with manufacturing, finance, inventory, purchasing, or other operational functions within Business Central is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other assigned business applications.
- Troubleshoot application issues and manage their escalation and resolution.
- Gather and document business requirements, workflows, user needs, and system-enhancement requests.
- Configure, test, and support application updates, integrations, patches, and new-feature rollouts.
- Support Business Central functions related to finance, purchasing, inventory, reporting, and business operations.
- Analyze application performance, data quality, user adoption, and process efficiency.
- Work with software vendors and internal teams to resolve defects and coordinate upgrades.
- Create and maintain user guides, process documentation, configuration notes, test plans, and support procedures.
- Train employees and provide practical guidance on system use and established processes.
- Support user access, permissions, data integrity, and company security standards.
- Participate in project planning, system testing, deployment, change management, and post-implementation support.
- Develop reports, metrics, and recommendations related to application performance, risks, and improvement priorities.
- Support financial and operational reporting needs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve workflows, and reduce manual work.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a business environment.
- At least two years of experience supporting business applications, ERP systems, databases, or operational software.
- Experience troubleshooting application issues and supporting end users.
- Experience gathering requirements, documenting workflows, and testing system changes.
- Working knowledge of application configuration, databases, reporting tools, or system integrations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to nontechnical users.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Business Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Business Central experience involving finance, purchasing, inventory, reporting, manufacturing, or operational workflows.
- Experience supporting applications in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ShopVue, CDK Global, CYMA, JobBOSS, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, APIs, integrations, or reporting and query tools.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, change management, quality-assurance testing, or ITIL practices.
- Experience coordinating application implementations, upgrades, or process-improvement projects.
- Experience working with software vendors, including issue escalation and release coordination.

Working Conditions
This position may occasionally require work outside normal business hours to support application releases, urgent system issues, scheduled maintenance, or testing. The Application Analyst will work with employees and leaders across multiple departments and company locations.
