Position Title: Data Solution Lead
Location: Beijing, China; Shanghai, China.

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and Data Solution Lead to join our APAC Technology Services Data & Analytics team. Based in Beijing or Shanghai, you will be the lead engineer responsible for designing, and iterating enterprise-level data platforms and solutions, primarily on Microsoft Azure, with AWS on occasion. You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders in China and regionally to understand requirements, design data architecture which follow J&J global standards, and enable advanced analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Ø Collaborate with business teams to advise on and translate requirements into technical solutions, within the Innovative Medicine China portfolio.
Ø Serve as the data architect for enterprise-level data platform, establishing engineering best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT and data integration, primarily in Azure databricks.
Ø Proactively explore and integrate AI-driven tools (e.g., AI Coding, Automated AI agents) into daily workflows to optimize data engineering tasks and boost operational efficiency.
Ø Drive the implementation of dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI for business stakeholders.
Ø Lead the third party technical team, provide technical guidance and ensure data engineer governance framework is fully implemented.
Ø Communicate effectively with key stakeholders across business and IT, managing expectations and delivering updates in clear English.
Qualifications And Experience
Ø Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Ø Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Azure cloud services. Strong expertise in Azure data services: Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, etc.
Ø Proven ability to communicate complex data architectures to non-technical stakeholders.
Ø Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Ø A strong passion for emerging AI technologies, with hands on experience with AI productivity tools, such as Github Copilot, Kiro.
Ø Proven track record of leading data projects and managing stakeholders.
Ø Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment.
Preferred Skills
Ø Certification in Azure Data Engineering or Databricks Data Engineer.
Ø Solid understanding of GenAI fundamentals, with hands-on experience in building RAG pipelines and development custom AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain.
