Key Responsibilities
Database Administration
- Administer and maintain SQL Server / Azure SQL environments supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Support the ongoing Sage 300 → Dynamics 365 Business Central migration, including data migration, validation, and cutover support
- Manage the Pervasive PSQL / Btrieve database environment for Sage 300 during the transition period
- Own database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for all business-critical databases
- Monitor and tune database performance; manage capacity planning as data volumes grow
- Implement and maintain data security controls, access permissions, and audit logging across managed databases
- Maintain data integrity for the TCORE/Ignition SCADA historian database supporting O&M remote monitoring
- Support the Qatium-to-Ingest API data pipeline used for hydraulic modeling at active SWRO sites
Cloud & Infrastructure Services
- Administer Azure cloud resources supporting TSG's business applications — provisioning, cost management, and access control
- Manage cloud backup systems, including Microsoft 365 backup and server backup/disaster recovery (BDR)
- Partner with the Microsoft 365 administrator on tenant security policy where cloud infrastructure and identity/access management intersect
- Evaluate and recommend cloud infrastructure improvements as TSG's systems and USA footprint grow
IT Systems Continuity (Secondary Scope)
- Serve as backup administrator for Microsoft 365 in the primary administrator's absence
- Monitor server and Microsoft 365 backup jobs; troubleshoot and escalate failures
- Administer email security policy and spam filtering configuration
- Provide light-volume IT ticket support/triage as needed (current volume is under 1 ticket/day)
Note: endpoint/workstation antivirus and patch management is owned by the Microsoft 365 administrator, not this role
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years administering SQL Server and/or Azure SQL environments in a production business setting
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services — resource management, backup, cost and capacity monitoring
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery systems and practices
- Strong independent troubleshooting skills; comfortable owning systems with minimal daily oversight
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with ERP database environments (Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage 300, or comparable platforms)
- Experience with Pervasive PSQL / Btrieve database environments
- Familiarity with SCADA/historian database systems (Ignition or similar industrial platforms)
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 tenant security, or willingness to cross-train as a backup admin
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, or industrial/utility environments
