What You Will Do
- Performs daily accounting activities, such as new vendor setup, expense report and sub-application review.
- Create and execute general journal entries on a daily basis based on supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP.
- Month-end close activities, including maintaining monthly and quarterly account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and work in process schedules.
- Assists with preparation of documentation as requested by external auditors.
- Prepares special financial reports as requested by management by analyzing account information and trends.
- Initiates accounting research to ensure all transactions are in accordance with GAAP.
- Supports the accounting team by performing other assigned duties as needed.
- Supports continuous improvement in the department by reviewing, recommending and implementing better methods for existing processes.
- Working Conditions – Office setting, Full time, Periodic travel may be required to other offices.
- Reporting Structure – Cost Accountant Manager or Assistant Controller
- Strong Analytical skills with a working knowledge of current tax laws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment.
- Self-starter with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, verifies own work to ensure quality work product.
- Experience with multiple software platforms, such as Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, SAGE, ERP systems, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- 1-3 Years of Tax Accounting Experience
- College Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Experience with online tax filings, preparation of corporate, sales and general business tax returns
- Experience with Tax Research
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Communication skills, attention to detail
- Construction experience, multi-state jurisdictional experience, CMiC experience
