Role Description The DBT Clinician will provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy to clients through a combination of individual therapy sessions, skills groups, and treatment planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, developing and implementing DBT-informed treatment plans, maintaining timely and accurate documentation, and coordinating care with other providers as needed. The clinician will participate in DBT consultation teams, engage in ongoing training, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Madison, CT, with some work-from-home flexibility for telehealth sessions and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or supervised experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), including individual and group-based interventions.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment of mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and personality disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear documentation, treatment planning, and coordination of care.
  • Ability to build and maintain therapeutic relationships, demonstrate cultural humility, and work effectively with diverse client populations.
  • Competence with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHR), and basic office technology for hybrid in-person and remote work.
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related mental health field.
  • Current independent or associate-level clinical license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist) in the state of Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Experience in outpatient mental health settings and interest in working within a small, team-oriented private practice environment.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, ongoing professional development, and participation in DBT consultation and supervision.
