Overview
As a Data Service Engineer (Azure Data), you will work directly with enterprise customers to design, deploy, optimize, modernize, and support data platforms built on Microsoft Azure. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers leverage Azure data services to achieve scalable, secure, governed, and AI-ready data solutions.
By utilizing Microsoft intellectual property, best practices, and cloud adoption methodologies, you will guide customers through data platform transformation initiatives including analytics modernization, data engineering, governance, real-time analytics, and database migration.
You will collaborate closely with customer architects, data engineers, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to accelerate adoption of Microsoft Azure Data and AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor for Azure Data Platform solutions.
- Lead technical workshops, architectural discussions, and design reviews.
- Assist customers in defining modernization and migration strategies.
- Deliver technical guidance aligned with Microsoft best practices.
- Support proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production deployments.
- Design and implement enterprise-scale data architectures.
- Buld and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines.
- Develop scalable data lake, lakehouse, warehouse, and analytics solutions.
- Implement CI/CD, DevOps, and automation practices for data workloads.
- Monitor platform performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Migrate on-premises databases and analytics workloads to Azure.
- Design hybrid and cloud-native data architectures.
- Support modernization of legacy ETL and reporting platforms.
- Enable AI-ready data foundations using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data services.
- Implement data governance frameworks.
- Apply data security, privacy, compliance, and retention policies.
- Enable metadata management and lineage tracking.
- Design secure access controls using RBAC and data protection mechanisms.
- Deliver technical workshops and customer enablement sessions.
- Produce architecture documentation and operational runbooks.
- Mentor customer teams on Azure Data services and best practices.
