Job Summary

Maintenance Technician - Utility is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of utility systems, including ammonia Cooling Plant, HVAC, boilers, compressors, chillers, water treatment, and other essential plant utilities. The role ensures equipment efficiency, reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ammonia cooling plants, boilers, pumps, air compressors, PHE HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and water treatment plants to ensure continuous operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, and hydraulic issues in utility equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Record and report maintenance activities, breakdowns, and spare part usage.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new utility equipment.
  • Monitor energy consumption and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables required for maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support.

Required Qualification

  • Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in utility maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC systems, and water treatment plants.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical components.

  • Industrial/manufacturing setting with exposure to mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Requires adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
